Who we are
Astrum Multi Academy Trust was formed in 2017 and caters for pupils with a range of Severe and Complex Special Educational Needs across the London Borough of Redbridge and beyond. We currently have two schools split over three sites and a Therapy provision; Newbridge Lower School and Newbridge Upper School (ages 2-19y) and our second special school, Hatchside School (EY and KS1) . We are also partnered with Project Search and the NHS and are running an internship in our local hospital.
Trust seeks Trustees with expertise in:
Health and/or social care
Education and/or Special Educational Needs
Parent/carer of a person with Special Educational
Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
As a key member of the Trust you will
support the organisation to achieve the following over the next 12 – 24 months:
the quality and effectiveness of governance, strategic leadership, and
financial oversight of the Trust
educational standards and outcomes: ensuring the highest of expectations,
robust pupil achievement and a variety of opportunities to succeed, are in
place consistently across the Trust
management and compliance: ensuring the Trust acts to provide value for
money and secure long-term financial sustainability for Trust pupils and their
governance in education is a strategic, ‘eyes on, hands off’ commitment which
for a Trustee typically involves attending c. 6 board meetings and 3
sub-committee meetings per year – 3-4 hours per month.
Trustees and Governors are invited to attend whole school events and
celebrations but are expected to complete at least one annual school visit in
addition to the above meetings.
