The RoleThe Board Directors are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of UK Biobank, its financial health, the probity of its activities and developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with their agreed strategy, legal and regulatory guidelines. We expect that Board Directors will also sit on one of the main sub-committees, namely the Access Committee, the Ethics Advisory Committee or the Audit and Risk Committee.
The PersonThe successful candidates will combine strong intellect and gravitas with commercial acumen, senior experience of operating at Board level and a commitment to inclusivity. We are keen to strengthen the Board by recruiting new Board Directors who will broaden the existing skills and drive UK Biobank forward. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have expertise in:
- Finance, Research Ethics and Governance
- Genetics and Genetic Epidemiology
- General Epidemiology
Further InformationBoard Director roles are remunerated at £8,000 per annum and up to £12,000 per annum dependent on committee membership.
