Who we are
Cheshire Community Council (trading as Cheshire Community Action) is a community development charity that specialises in supporting rural communities. Originally set up in 1930, its purpose is to help rural communities manage and adapt to change across Cheshire, Warrington and Halton.
It provides support and advice services to help develop and improve places including:
producing neighbourhood plans;
housing needs surveys and assessments;
developing community-led housing schemes and;
setting up social enterprises / community businesses.
It also provides services that directly support individuals through early intervention health and social care services.
It is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee.
Cheshire Community Action has recently secured funding to establish a new support service to help communities develop affordable homes to meet their needs. We are looking for people with skills and experience in social housing and / or housing development who understand and preferably have some experience of working with communities.
Health and Social Care
We deliver early intervention support to help individuals in vulnerable situations access a whole range of services that help improve health and wellbeing. We are predominantly commissioned by Local Authorities to deliver these services that support people to stay more independent and reduce social isolation. Therefore, we are looking for people with skills and experience in health and social care sector who understand the challenges for small charities delivering early intervention services in the community.
Marketing and Communications
Cheshire Community Action is improving the way it communicates with its beneficiaries and stakeholders. We now require Board level skills to help support and guide our marketing and communications going forward.
