Who we are

Bramley Baths is a community-led not-for-profit centre for fitness, health, wellbeing and fun. We operate a public gym, swimming pool and studio in a Grade II listed Edwardian bath house which has been serving the people of Bramley since 1904.

Today, our social enterprise is 10 years old and going from strength to strength. We’re proud to be the friendliest Baths in Britain, and proud to play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community.

The role

Our board of trustees is elected by members, and volunteer to help steer the professional team who operate the facility.

Our trustees bring a wide range of professional skills, local knowledge and huge enthusiasm to ensuring we continue to deliver the best service for people in Bramley.

Trustees are legally responsible for the work of the Baths.Trustees receive access to training opportunities and the chance to get a great insight into running a heritage asset and community leisure facility.

Trustees serve terms of 3 years, renewable after the first term and by exception the second term. During their term, trustees are invited to take on specific roles, which currently include Chair, Vice Chair, and Safeguarding Lead.

The Board meets six times a year, but trustees are also asked to join sub-groups to oversee specific areas like finance, fundraising and HR, and also attend the fantastic events put on by the team through the year.
