Who we are

We are a British charity devoted to saving butterflies, moths, and their habitats.

The role

Our vision is to have a world where
butterflies and moths thrive and can be enjoyed by everyone, forever. If you are passionate
about being part of nature’s recovery, making a meaningful impact, and
rebuilding the relationship between people and the natural world, we want you
on our team. As a Trustee, you
will have the opportunity to influence our strategy and support our expert
staff and volunteers in the conservation of butterflies and moths helping them
to deliver on our key strategic goals.

As a Trustee, you will serve on the governing
body of the charity and be instrumental, alongside your fellow Trustees, in
providing the governance that supports the CEO and Senior Leadership Team in
the successful running of the organisation, ensuring that it delivers its
charitable objectives and long-term vision and purpose. The Board is ultimately
responsible for the organisation’s viability and legal responsibilities.

The Board is seeking to reflect BC’s
requirement for a skilled and diverse group of Trustees, and we welcome
candidates with the skills and experience required to fulfil the
responsibilities of a Trustee as detailed in our role description. We are
particularly interested to hear from candidates with relevant experience in the
following areas:

· Advocacy/lobbying skills

· Fundraising and marketing

· Environmental leadership

· Financial experience,
particularly in the charitable sector

Our vision is a
world where butterflies and moths can be enjoyed by everyone, everywhere, and
we embrace diversity across all our supporters, members, volunteers and staff.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is free to
be themselves and able to give their best. We particularly welcome applications
from individuals from underrepresented groups and will ensure no applicant
receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, gender
reassignment, sex, disability, religion or belief, sexual
orientation, race, or any other protected or other characteristic. If you have the right skills and experience,
and our vision and values resonate with you, we’d love to hear from you.
