Who we are

Since 1986 the Castlehaven Community Association(CCA) has been a multi-purpose community-led charity providing sports, environmental, health, recreational and social support programmes for the local community of all ages and abilities. Although serving the whole community most of CCA’s initiatives target the disadvantaged or excluded e.g. isolated elderly, LGBTIQ+, people living in poverty including children & young people, BAME and those without access to nature.

The role

The Castlehaven Community Association (CCA) is an award-winning charity based in the heart of Camden Town. We aim to bring people together through fun and interactive activities, such as gardening, cooking, arts & crafts, sports & exercise classes, children’s afterschool & holiday schemes, community events, and loads more. We also run an emergency foodbank, a social prescribing service, LGBTIQ+ activities and a professional information, advice & guidance service. We have a diverse and friendly team of staff and volunteers who work hard to make Castlehaven a warm, welcoming, and caring place for everyone.

We are looking for a new treasurer who shares our vision and values, and who can help us achieve our mission. As a trustee treasurer, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management, governance and strategy of CCA. You will also support the staff team with your expertise and advice. You will be expected to attend quarterly board meetings, financial sub committee meetings, our annual general meeting, as well as occasional community events and training sessions.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • IT and data management
  • Environment and nature
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Local knowledge and experience

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities, especially those who are underrepresented on charity boards. We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for our trustees, staff, volunteers and beneficiaries.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee of CCA, please email Ernie Bevan-Niss (Operations Assistant) on [email protected] to request an application pack. Alternatively, you can contact our Chief Executive Officer, Tricia Richards, at [email protected] or call 07776541889 for an informal chat.

Please check out our website: www.castlehaven.org.uk for more information on all that CCA provides for the community.

We look forward to hearing from you!
