Who we are
Challenge Partners is an innovative education charity through which schools collaborate to share knowledge and best practice, driving improvement of each other and the education system as a whole. Led by practitioners, our goal is to reduce educational inequality and improve the life chances of all children, especially the least advantaged.
Values-led with a sustainable social-enterprise business model, Challenge Partners has grown rapidly since its formation in 2011. Our network now comprises more than 500 partner schools representing over 250,000 children across England. And the model works: schools and pupils in our network outperform national averages each year.
As an organisation, we continuously strive to improve, innovate and add value - especially at a time when schools are experiencing changing demands and are under increased pressure. With a strong network of schools and effective programmes in place, we are well positioned to extend our reach and impact further.
Inspired by our mission and aligned with our values, you will bring a highly collaborative approach, championing our practitioner-led model to ensure we make the greatest impact for schools and pupils. Bringing good commercial acumen, you will have an interest in ensuring excellence and innovation through our work. Outstanding communication and ambassadorial skills will allow you to work closely alongside our CEO and to advocate on behalf of the charity and our partners, building successful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and supporters. Good understanding of best practice in governance, gained through previous trustee or non-executive director experience, will be important.
We are interested in candidates from a range of backgrounds and insights, so leadership experience may come from a wide variety of sectors or industries including education, membership or wider commercial business. Challenge Partners is fully committed to equal opportunities and is actively seeking to increase the diversity of its governance structure to better reflect those we serve. We would welcome applications from candidates with a range of educational backgrounds or relevant lived experience. We would also welcome applications from a range of geographies across the UK, where we can offer some flexibility in board meetings to achieve this aim.
