Who we are

The object of the charity is to promote, encourage, maintain, improve and advance education of the public in the life and works of Charles Dickens and to establish and maintain the property at 48 Doughty Street in the London Borough of Camden as a Museum to house and preserve all articles having connection with Charles Dickens. The Charles Dickens Museum is the leading centre for the study, appreciation and enjoyment of Charles Dickens’s life and work.

The role

The Charles Dickens Museum is seeking one person with finance expertise to join its non-executive Board.
At this time, we are looking for skills and experience in finance, specifically accountancy and/or audit. In addition to serving on the Board, this person will also join the Finance & Operations Committee.
We recognise the value of diversity and are keen to reflect more closely the wide range of people who visit the Museum. We celebrate the role it plays in the creation of an inclusive workplace culture and thrive on the range of experience and insight diversity brings to our Museum. We want to broaden the diversity of our Board and welcome candidates who can contribute greater diversity of representation and thinking, including Black and Asian people, LGBT+ people, people with disabilities, and those with experience of socio-economic disadvantage. We also wish to encourage applications from people who live or work in the neighbourhood of the Museum (Bloomsbury, Holborn, King’s Cross / St Pancras).
