Who we are
Chichester Festival Theatre creates inspiring experiences that bring people together – on and off the stage. It’s a place where exceptional stories are created and shared. We connect inventive artists with imaginative audiences. We bring theatre to schools and youth groups, to the West End and world stages, with the belief that theatre is for everyone.
As a CFT trustee, you will work in a collaborative partnership between the Board and our Executive team to help us build on CFT’s artistic and organisational success in recent years and to support and guide our future strategy.
Under Kathy Bourne, Executive Director and outgoing Artistic Director, Daniel Evans, much work was done in 2022-23 to lay the foundations and set the direction for the next ten-year phase of Chichester Festival Theatre and what it means to our audiences and supporters, our community and our wider industry. Justin Audibert takes up the baton as Artistic Director from July 2023 and our Board and Executive team are working to a renewed Purpose, Vision and Values that will guide our strategy, artistic programming and business plan delivery in the years ahead.

Our Values – We are:
Creativity is at the heart of everything we do. We aren’t afraid to push boundaries in pursuit of our vision and to take risks, shaping the future of theatre.
We are rooted in our community, aiming to inspire and delight through our work on and off the stage. We bring people together and encourage everyone to try something new.
We are welcoming, open and inclusive to all, fostering a collaborative and respectful environment.
