Who we are
Citizens Advice Watford is a charity right at the very heart of our local community. We understand the needs of the people who come to us for help, and speak up for them to make things better for everyone in Watford.
The role
We’re aiming to broaden the skillset and diversity of our trustee board.
We’re looking for people with backgrounds and experience in the following fields:
- Fundraising, to support the Chief Officer with funding applications;
- IT, to provide technology advice and guidance;
- Accounting, to ensure our financial viability;
- Marketing & communications, to help promote our work with external partners and funders.
Citizens Advice Watford welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds and experience who are passionate about the work we do, and will contribute proactively to the work of the board. You don’t need to have previous trustee experience as we’ll provide the training and support you need to help you thrive in this role. What matters is your commitment to the aims and goals of the charity, and willingness to actively participate in the work of the board.
We recognise that a diverse board is more effective because it reflects different perspectives and promotes a more balanced approach to decision making. We welcome applications from people in all sectors of the community including young people, people of colour, people with disabilities, women and LGBTQIA+ people, who are currently underrepresented on our board. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of the issues faced by our clients.
