Who we are
We are a small group of Telford and Wrekin residents who are very concerned about the climate and ecological emergencies. We want to raise awareness among our local communities about the issues we all face and support people to access information and resources to help reduce their carbon emissions and live more sustainably. Climate Action Hub Telford is part of a growing National Climate Emergency Centre network. These centres use empty buildings to create welcoming, safe and inclusive spaces
The role
We are looking for trustees who can attend our regular online strategic planning meetings and also get hands on, if local, in the setting up of our Hub in Telford.
We aim to increase the diversity of our trustee team – currently we are all aged over 40 and of white British origin. We would love some younger, ethnically diverse trustees to join us but this is not a barrier to applying.
The skills we seek are:
- property and estate management
- strategic or business planning
- fundraising and income generation
- legal expertise
- cyber security
- campaigning/influencing/advocacy
You will need to be committed to sustainable living and working with others to reduce our carbon footprints. Passion, a sense of humour and an open mind would be great!
