Who we are
We believe in countryside and green spaces that are accessible to all, rich in nature and playing a crucial role in responding to the climate and biodiversity crises. With a local CPRE group in every county, we’re advocating nationwide for the kind of countryside we all want: one with sustainable, healthy communities and available to more people than ever, including those who haven’t benefited before.
The role
You will drive strategy for achieving the charitable aims of the organisation and work with our national and network colleagues to support and promote national CPRE The Countryside Charity campaigns and policies. Participating at local and national events, large and small, including at the Houses of Parliament and at meetings of CPRE’s Network Assembly and the Lancashire Nature Partnership is required. You need to ensure good governance and regulatory compliance to meet the duties of the trustees, particularly monitoring our financial health and meeting fiscal requirements of the law and the Charity Commission. You need people skills to manage and work with trustees, employees and volunteers to ensure that all feel supported and valued. We meet monthly online and at other times in person and there is a strong team ethos. You need to chair meetings with with tact, tolerance and in a spirit of collaboration and to ensure all can fully participate.
