Who we are
Empathy Museum is a charity that creates high quality participatory artworks that foster empathy through the use of storytelling and conversation, with an ambition to promote understanding and heal division. These artworks are modelled on different aspects of the high street (eg shoe shop, library, estate agents). They happen in public places, are free to access, tour nationally and internationally and are created in collaboration with participants, artists and cultural partners.
Key aims in recruiting are to increase the level of cultural and social representation across the board and to broaden the skills base of the group. In particular, Empathy Museum would like to talk to people with experience of working creatively with digital tools and platforms, people from the legal sector, people with experience of working within the health sector and people who are local to Empathy Museum’s base in Brixton in South London.
