Who we are
Facing History and Ourselves uses the lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to bigotry and hate. We are looking for new trustees to help us as we embark on an exciting plan for growth in schools and communities.
We are particularly looking for trustees who have skills and experience in secondary education, academia, finance, fundraising and charity leadership. Most importantly, we seek candidates who want to help create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
Time commitment: Terms of Office are three years and trustees can renew their membership. There are usually three or four formal meetings per year. We anticipate the role being a time commitment of a few hours per month, working with the other trustees and supporting the Executive Director. It is helpful to attend a few events a year to keep up to date with our work and see teachers and students in action.
