This new 5th Board Director will contribute strategic direction and ensure effective governance of FrameWorks UK. They will also bring finance expertise to support the Board fulfil its role in financial oversight.

Who we are

FrameWorks UK collaborates with charities and other mission driven organisations to communicate about social issues in ways that will create social progress. Our framing research shows how people think about important social issues. And we use this knowledge to develop and test communications strategies to help organisations create change. We are the sister organisation of the FrameWorks Institute based in Washington DC. We are not-for-profit organisation.

The role

The Board wish to appoint a 5th Director to strengthen its ability to exercise financial oversight of FrameWorks UK. This means the new Director is likely to have a background in finance or similar.

The new Director should also have a strong commitment to the mission and values of FrameWorks UK as well as experience of working collaboratively with Board Members and CEO to drive strategy and ensure effective leadership – ideally in the mission-driven sector. FrameWorks UK is a new organisation and experiencing an exciting period of growth and oportunity.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential as well as interest in social research and communications to achieve social progress.

FrameWorks UK is a not for profit company so this role is a Non Executive Director but is very similar to a Trustee role and is unpaid. FrameWorks UK is a subsidiary of FrameWorks Institute in the US and the UK Board works closely with the US Board.

The role is for a 3 year fixed term. We expect a time commitment of no more than 8 days a year. Board meetings are quarterly online or in London (once a year). From this summer, the Chair of the Board will be Sally Bacon.
