Who we are
Hackney Night Shelter (Hackney Doorways) has a long history of working with the local community to provide year-round emergency shelter for homeless people and support to assist them to move into longer term accommodation. We provide beds for 26 people each night and help around 100 people each year.
Hackney Doorways (established as a charity in 2010) runs the night shelters. We have a small staff team of seven and over two hundred volunteers including a committed Board of trustees.

We are seeking new Trustees to grow and strengthen our Board

Whether you are an experienced trustee or this is your first step onto a board we would love to hear from you. We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds.
What’s involved?
The Board meets quarterly with the Charity Director. In between, trustees contribute to key working groups or new projects. Commitment would be approximately 2-3 days per quarter.
