Who we are
Hammersley Homes is a charity that aims to provide a nationwide network of homes for life, for vulnerable adults who suffer from enduring mental illness, to enrich their lives through kindness and compassion, providing a sense of community and purpose, offering Safety, Security, Comfort & Friendship - For Life.
We are looking for people interested in improving the lot of the vulnerable and unfortunate sector - and there are many of them - who suffer from enduring mental illness. We want to enrich their lives, reduce the lonliness, misery and chaos that so are so often present, and provide them with homes for life, offering kindness and compassion, a sense of community and purpose, giving them safety, security, comfort and friendship - for life.
We are a passionate and dedicated group, but we lack certain experience and skill sets, and are hoping to find interested people who might be able to contribute some of the following:
- Legal expertise
- Knowledge of and experience in the mental health world
- Knowledge of and experience in the care industry
- Knowledge of and experience in Social Services
- Contacts in the political world and government
Any of the above would be a terrific bonus.
To begin with it's a fairly hands on role - but in due course, once we have our homes up and running, and are adequately funded, we Trustees would sit back a bit and leave the running of the homes and the charity to paid, skilled and qualified employees.
