Who we are

Mind in Harrow is an independent local charity affiliated to national Mind with a mission that we won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect. We have an excellent award-winning reputation driven by service user empowerment ethos with £1.3m income, 40 staff and over 100 volunteers supporting 3,500 people per annum. The day-to-day management of the organisation is undertaken by our senior management team.

Could you lead and inspire Mind in Harrow to achieve our ambitious plans to transform the lives of more young people and adults with mental health needs, while diversifying our income sources?

This is a significant leadership opportunity for a person who has the strategic focus, governance understanding and emotional intelligence to develop a high performing board, provide the right blend of support and challenge to the Chief Executive and Executive Team and drive engagement with our Community. The Chair will have a passion for mental health and commitment to safeguard those most at risk in our society.

Six Board meetings per year take place on Monday evenings in central Harrow or currently virtually via videoconference.

We recognise the importance of having a diverse and inclusive Board of Trustees, and would therefore welcome applications reflecting the diversity of Harrow’s BAME communities.  We always welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health problems. We are committed to meeting the reasonable adjustments of disabled people.

To express an interest in the Chair role, please send your CV to the Chief Executive, Mark Gillham [email protected] and we will arrange an informal call.
