Who we are
An independent charity founded over 40 years ago, the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) works with schools, education leaders and practitioners to improve provision for more able learners. We believe that through a focus on meeting the needs of more able learners, and embedding an ethos and culture of high expectations for all, schools can ensure all young people have opportunities to flourish.
The role
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain an overview of the Association’s affairs and advise the Board appropriately;
- Ensure the charity’s money is safe and properly used;
- Ensure that the Charity has an appropriate reserves policy;
- Ensure the Association’s compliance with legislation;
- Support the CEO in preparing for the annual audit, or independent examination, ensuring that the accounts are examined in accordance with SORP and FRS 102, and implement anyrecommendations by the auditor/examiner;
- Review of management accounts and budgets prior to presentation to the Board;
- Keep the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities.
