Who we are
Northamptonshire Sport was formed in 2003 to act as the local strategic lead body for sport, within Sport England’s national strategic framework. Since then, our role has grown to encompass the development of physical activity as a vital component in the health and wellbeing of people in Northamptonshire, specifically on reaching the least active, especially those in groups and areas where significant physical activity inequalities exist.

Northamptonshire Sport aims to have a diverse board, reflective of the local community, with a mix of skills, experience and competencies that best serves our aspirations.
We welcome applications from everyone, but would
particularly like to hear from disabled people or people with long-term health
conditions or those who can help strengthen the voice of disabled people on our
board through their work or voluntary roles
While not a requirement, we would particularly welcome applicants with experience of:
- Finance or accountancy
- Business transformation/Organisational Development

Our trustees meets formally at least six times per year. There is a further expectation that trustees will contribute to specific project groups as they arise from time to time, along with being invited to a number of events throughout the year.
