Who we are
We create performances that are accessible and relevant for children and young people with complex sensory needs. This means our audience can follow our stories through all their senses. For example, instead of just seeing a woman sitting under an orange tree on a hot day, our audience will be able to feel the rough tree bark on their hands, taste the citrus fruit tingle on the tongue and feel the warm touch of the sun’s rays on their toes.
The role
The Chairperson must coordinate the Board to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place for the effective management of the organisation. The Chairperson may from time to time be called upon to represent the organisation and sometimes be its spokesperson at, for example, functions or meetings.
The Chairperson is responsible for making sure that each meeting is planned effectively, conducted according to the constitution and that matters are dealt with in an orderly, efficient manner. The Chairperson must make the most of all his/her board members, building and leading the team. This also involves regularly reviewing the Board’s performance and identifying and managing the process for renewal of the Board through recruitment of new members.
