Who we are
Pan is a London-based arts company using intercultural performance to help facilitate self-expression and promote deeper understanding of our changing cultural identities. Pan works with a diverse range of communities in the UK and internationally, empowering people to use the arts as a tool for change in their lives. Our work focuses on supporting young refugees, female survivors of trafficking and young people at risk of the effects of violence.
The role
This is an exciting time to be joining the Pan Board of Trustees. We are currently one year into our ambitious four year business plan which includes launching several new projects, establishing a permanent work-space, finding ways to broaden our reach and diversifying our sources of funding.
We are looking for new trustees to join the Board and share their skills and experience to help us develop and build on our achievements. Trustees will attend quarterly trustee meetings, assist with fundraising and networking and represent us at events. We also expect them to dedicate small amounts of time to work with individual staff members on their area of expertise. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience in HR, Fundraising and property management or acquiring commercial property. This could be professional or volunteer-related expertise, or from your education, training and networks.
This is a voluntary position and an interest in the issues facing our work and a commitment to the role is essential, although no prior experience of being a trustee is required. Pan currently has ten Trustees from a variety of backgrounds including two who were once participants in our groups. We are a friendly, supportive team and our quarterly Board meetings welcome open discussion to strengthen our governance.
