Who we are
Founded in 2006, Peer Productions is an award-winning youth arts charity based in Woking. We combine high quality arts practice and learning with peer education, and are dedicated to transforming young people’s lives through theatre. Each year we reach 15,000 young people in schools across the South East, performing plays which support the PSHE curriculum and tackle issues young people face in a compassionate and accessible way, empowering them to make positive life choices.
The role
The Treasurer is responsible for the strategic oversight of all financial transactions and fundraising for Peer Productions, and ensuring good financial practice and governance is in place.
They will have a solid understanding of financial, risk and governance systems, and should be a qualified accountant, or will have held responsibility for finance in their role, for example as a CFO or a Finance Director. They will ideally be familiar with charity accounting requirements and regulations, and charity fundraising practices. Experience of capital development projects is also highly desirable, as we have the possibility of expanding within our building and redeveloping a currently empty floor.
They should embrace our inclusive ethos and mission of transforming young people’s lives through theatre.
Peer Productions is committed to reflecting the diversity of the UK across all aspects of the charity and its work. We are currently under-represented in our trustee team by people from Black, Asian and other global majority ethnic backgrounds. We are committed to addressing this under-representation and actively encourage applicants from these backgrounds.
