We are looking for two new trustees with diverse skills and backgrounds which reflect the people we represent. Applicants should have an affinity with our aim of providing support to all those with or affected by psoriasis in the UK.

Who we are

The Psoriasis Association is the leading national charity for people whose lives are impacted by psoriasis. Offering information, advice and support through a wide variety of means, funding and supporting research priorities identified in the James Lind Alliance Psoriasis Priority Setting Partnership and striving to raise awareness of psoriasis amongst the general public, healthcare professionals and members of parliament.


The role

We
have excellent and committed existing trustees but with a more diverse board of
people with a wider range of backgrounds and skills to support, help and guide
the charity and the Senior Management Team, we believe we will be in a stronger
position to achieve our objectives.

​Areas
of experience and expertise we feel are currently underrepresented on the Board
of Trustees are:-

1.
Human Resources expertise

2.
Experience in improving reach into socially deprived, or diverse
communities to support our work in tackling health inequalities

3.
Experience of living with psoriasis as a young person or
experience of family life with a child or young person with psoriasis

4.
Health or science expertise in psoriasis

5.
Insight into living with psoriasis in skin of colour

How do
I apply?

We
are looking for outstanding people with a strong commitment to our values and
aims. You must be over 18 years of age
and be able to commit to a minimum of three Trustee meetings per year plus the
Annual General Meeting. There are
further opportunities for Trustees to contribute.

Prospective
applicants will be offered an opportunity to discuss the role with the current
chair. Applicants must submit an application form.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview week commencing 11th
December 2023.
