Who we are
The Retreat Association is a Christian-based organisation which seeks to enable people to explore and deepen their spiritual journey through retreats and reflective activities. We are rooted in our Christian faith, which gives inspiration to what we do as we strive to be open and inclusive, offering advice to whoever approaches us, whatever their background or belief.
The role
The main duties of the role would be to advise the Retreat Association’s Executive Director and Trustees on strategic development and governance, enabling the charity to build on its achievements and to be as effective as possible in its activities.
We are seeking someone with at least 3 years experience in governance and strategic planning, including previous experience as a charity trustee. They would also need to be a practising Christian who is sympathetic to the work of the RA and able to share the vision of offering support to those looking for stillness and silence in their lives. They would need to be able to work collaboratively with the Retreat Association’s Executive Director and Trustees and be an effective communicator.
The trustees meet 4 times a year (3 online with 1 meeting in London annually). This appointment could also involve membership of the operations sub-committee, which meets 4 times a year online.
