Who we are
Roehampton Students’ Union (RSU) aims to create positive changes and experiences around the University. RSU is a student led organisation with three sabbatical officer trustees and twenty-seven part time officers elected each year making up a Student Union Council. The Council represents the views of our fellow students. To support the sabbatical officers, part time officers, and the union’s range of services and functions we have 13 full time members of staff and a growing number of student internships.
We would like appointed Trustees to be open to serving a full four-year term. External Trustees can serve for a maximum of two terms. With the term of office much shorter for student and officer trustees, the long-term commitment of external trustees ensures that the union has consistency and stability as it navigates its strategic objectives.
Attendance at Board Meetings
The Trustee Board will meet between four and six times a year. In addition to that it would be valuable if you attended our annual general members meeting where you can meet the part time officers and some students. These meetings can take place in the evening but also all day for more detailed work.
Support Officer Trustees
Outside of board meetings there may be occasions when the Officer Trustees will turn to you for your experience and knowledge.
An Involvement with the Union
We would like Trustees to take an active interest in our services, campaigns and events to gain a greater understanding of what we do, how we represent students and celebrate the diversity of our student community
In your application, it is important to emphasise any knowledge, skills or experience that you may have gained through employment, education or things that you have done in your spare time.
