Who we are

South East London (SEL) Mind was formed through the merger of Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind and Lambeth & Southwark Mind in January 2024. We are one of the largest local Mind charities with a diverse workforce of over 400 staff and volunteers, working to support people with mental health problems and dementia in our five boroughs.

The role

South East London (SEL) Mind was formed through the merger of Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind and Lambeth & Southwark Mind in January 2024. The merger brought together two highly regarded, innovative local charities working alongside people with mental health problems and dementia in their local communities to improve their quality of life. With an annual turnover of more than £7m, over 200 staff and 230 volunteers, we are one of the largest charities in the Mind network.

We are seeking an Honorary Treasurer to take over when our current Treasurer steps down later this year. The Treasurer will monitor the financial matters of the charity and report to the Board of Trustees regarding the financial health of the organisation.

We are looking for a qualified finance professional with experience of chairing meetings. All our Trustees need excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, strategic vision and good, independent judgement.

Inclusion is one of our core values and we see great benefits in having a diverse Board. We are keen to sustain and build on our heritage in providing culturally specific services to under-served communities and to increase the diversity of our Board. For this role we therefore strongly encourage people from local Black and other under-represented communities to apply.

Closing date: Sunday 18th February 2024 (11:59pm)

Likely Interview date: 28th February 2024
