Who we are


Teatro Vivo  is a critically acclaimed  theatre  company  making playful and exciting  immersive  shows  in unusual spaces. 

We tell stories in surprising ways – bringing Shakespeare to  supermarkets, exploring The Odyssey on the streets of Deptford, or exposing the truth behind the British  arms  trade in public squares.

The role

Teatro Vivo are seeking two to three dedicated trustees to join its Board of Directors. Trustees bring the company insight, focus and a commitment to supporting the organisation to deliver its mission of creating highly professional performances in unusual spaces working with local communities.

We are particularly interested to hear from those with specialisms in one or more of the following areas, which we have identified as gaps on our current board. These will help us to develop our programme in the coming years:

Marketing – seeking individuals to help with brand identity and raising industry recognition as well as marketing strategy, social media and data on company projects and productions

Corporate and business or entrepreneurship – to advise on developing income streams and the development of company strategy

Trustees are expected to attend four board meetings per year plus other ad hoc commitments in line with specific specialisms;

Meeting times are flexible and will be set at a time convenient to all members of the group wherever possible.

Attendance can be in person or via Zoom

Time Commitment: no more than 0.5 days a month (including meeting prep, regular and ad hoc meetings & emails).

The roles are unpaid voluntary positions.

Each Trustee has a specific responsibility to advise the Board in relation to their area of expertise and is expected to actively participate at full Board meetings, and as a member of any relevant subcommittees to which they are appointed.

Trustees are expected to work together to help Teatro Vivo achieve its aims, and to govern the organisation in line with its vision and objectives.

Trustees have responsibility to oversee the financial practices of the organisation.

Previous Board experience is not necessary.
