Who we are
Community Led – Community Owned
In a world that seems increasingly disconnected, where more of us feel isolated and where community can seem in decline, the Gregson is a beacon of hope.
Our mission is for people to be in the driving seat of their community events and cultural experiences.
We believe it is critical that our community has a place to come together. Our spaces play a crucial role in our city’s cultural ecology. It is everyone’s right to create and take part in community life.
The role
Gregson Community Association Trustees
We are keen to attract a diverse selection of new trustees and are particularly looking for people with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
● People Management/HR
● Marketing and Communications
● Business Management
● Organisational Leadership
● Building/Venue Management
Over the next two years we are also likely to appoint new people (yet to be identified) to the roles of Chair and Treasurer.
Gregson Trading Ltd Directors
GTL wishes to attract one or two directors with proven experience in achieving success in the bar/catering sector, ideally people who understand strategy and also have practical, hand-on experience to share.Directors will need to share our commitment to attracting and maintaining a diverse clientele, in line withThe Gregson’s standing as Lancaster’s only community-run pub and café bar.
We are keen to attract directors whose skill-set and range of experiences will complement those of existing directors whose expertise lies in the not for profit/arts/community sector.
With other GTL directors you will be able to attend directors meetings (probably bi-monthly) and in the mean time respond to relevant correspondence relating to GTL. Board papers will be circulated in advance, including operational and finance reports. There will be a strong focus on the strategic development of the bar and café operation within the overall community-focussed ethos of the Gregson. We are very keen to hear from those in traditionally under-represented groups in our community as theGCA is committed to fully reflecting the rich diversity of our wider community.
