Who we are
The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (MHCPC) offers an extensive psychodynamic counselling training programme and counselling referral service.
The MHCPC is a charity that has provided counselling to the local community for over 30 years. Our charitable status enables individuals on low incomes to have access to affordable, long term psychodynamic counselling which is not widely available elsewhere.
Our training programme promotes personal development and growth whilst supporting communities through the provision of further qualified counsellors providing talking therapy.
The Chair will be in the unique position to be able to recruit most members of the Board and this would attract a dynamic Chair who has a solid experience of charity governance and leadership.
A Chair is sought who has a strong empathy with the organisation's objectives and has some understanding of, or interest in, talking therapies and mental health. We are looking to appoint a Chair who can provide strategic insight and expertise to the Board deliberations and support the organisation in it's growth and development.
The MHCPC have an actibe Board of Management responsible for the day to day running of the organisation. The Chair's role is to work in partnership with the Board of Management, helping them achieve their vision for the organisation.
The MHCPC sets high training and clinical standards and we are ambitious to develop and raise our profile and influence to increase the wider public's awareness of the benefits of high quality psychodynamic counselling.
Our training programme is accredited by both the British Association for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
