Who we are
Thomas Pocklington Trust is a registered charity and our objective is to increase awareness and understanding of the needs and aspirations of blind and partially sighted people. We seek to do this by improving opportunities for engagement, education and employment for blind and visually impaired people.
We are looking to recruit two exceptional people to join our current trustee board of ten members in giving strategic direction to this important work.
Ideally, we’re looking for people with one or both of the following skills:
· Communications (knowledge of messaging including PR and social media as well as raising public awareness)
· Service Delivery (knowledge and expertise in developing and delivering services within the voluntary sector).
An understanding of the not-for-profit sector, lived experience of sight loss and previous board/trustee experience is beneficial yet not essential and we welcome applications from everyone.
Our trustee board meets four times each year, although there is additional trustee involvement between meetings. The current term of office is three years.
To apply
Please send a CV with a covering letter outlining your experience and why you are interested in joining our board to [email protected]
Travel expenses and childcare costs will be reimbursed. Please note that this is otherwise an unpaid position.
