Who we are
At the Together Trust, our vision is a society where people thrive because they are valued within their communities. Yet the road ahead for millions of people lies tangled and difficult to climb.
But they’re not alone.
For 150 years we’ve been championing and caring for people with disabilities, autism and complex health needs. And providing life-changing support for looked-after children and care-experienced people.
Today we’re one of the North West’s leading disability charities. We help children, adults, parents and carers, delivering individual care, support and education to thousands of people each year. We are proud to offer warm and nurturing homes for children and young people, special education, community services, help for families, therapy, and specialist support.
As a Trustee with Together Trust you will need:
o a commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Together Trust
o to be willing to meet the minimum time requirement
o good strategic vision and independent judgement
o creative thinking skills
o teamworking skills
o an understanding of the experiences, needs and challenges faced by the people we support (or at least a willingness to learn more)
o to comply to our Code of Conduct and Together Trust policies.
We are actively encouraging applications from people who are black, Asian, or a minoritized ethnicity, disabled, LGBTQ+ and/or have varying levels of educational attainment. We particularly welcome applications from younger people aged 18 to 30 and we are also interested in hearing from candidates with a background or advanced knowledge in:
- equality, diversity and inclusion
- fundraising and/or social value
- special education
- lived experience of any specialist area in which we work.
