Who we are
Borderline’s vision is that every Scot, residing or found within a 35-mile radius of Charing Cross, has a home and the support they need to lead a healthy and independent life. To be eligible for relief applicants must be born in Scotland or the child, widow, widower or surviving civil partner of a person born in Scotland.
We offer a range of services including information, advice and advocacy, provision of birth certificates for identification purposes, accommodation, referrals to specialist projects, an outreach worker service and financial grants.
About the role
We are the only London-based charity specifically set up to support homeless Scots in the Greater London area.
We provide the services that we know address the needs of our clients to enable them to move away from homelessness. Every rough sleeper can, and should, be helped off the streets to lead their life in a sustainable way.
About the Trustees
This is a voluntary role, although expenses can be paid. Our Trustees serve for a five year term, but can seek re-election at the end of this period for a further three-year term. As a Trustee, you would need to be able to attend four Board meetings. These meetings are mostly held at our office in 22 City Road, London EC1Y 2AJ, or in another central London location.
We are seeking to broaden the professional experience of the Trustees and candidates must have professional experience at a senior level in one of the following sectors - Legal and Homelessness.
