Who we are
Around 2% of the world’s population have an intellectual impairment, but we believe this should not be a barrier to being the best. Our vision is a world where people with intellectual impairment achieve their highest level of excellence through sport.
We’re a global leader in sport - working to change attitudes, create opportunities and develop pathways to ensure that athletes with an intellectual impairment can compete at the highest possible level.
INAS is the International Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments. It is a member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and represents the interests of athletes with an intellectual impairment within para-sport worldwide.
We organise an annual programme of regional and world championship competitions in 15 sports together with the four-yearly INAS Global Games – a multi-sport event attracting around 1000 of the world’s best athletes – whilst promoting public and media awareness of sport for people with an intellectual impairment. INAS is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in the UK and is supported by a global membership (currently around 84 national and international organisations around the world) representing more than 300,000 athletes.
We’re seeking an outstanding individual to join our international Board of Trustees to help us achieve the next stage of our organisational evolution. You will have the experience to help us develop our Corporate Partnership strategy and to plan and direct associated investment to engage major corporations and donors.

This is a rare opportunity to join a global organisation and make a transformational change to the lives of thousands of athletes who have been historically shut out of mainstream society.
Our future has some exciting times ahead as we look to support engage more nations and more athletes with developmental disabilities including more severe impairments and athletes with autism. We’re also undertaking a substantial update to our brand to give us a leading worldwide presence.
