The Organisation
City, University London Students’ Union is a membership-led organisation, independent of the University, which exists to make sure students have the best overall experience at City both socially and academically.
The Role
City Students’ Union are looking for two new trustees to join their board – the highest decision-making body in the Union, ultimately responsible for its work with particular management of its financial well-being, strategic direction, and legal compliance.
It is an exciting time to join, following a re-brand, they have introduced their ambitious new strategy for 2023-2026 which sets a clear direction, with an increased focus on a tailored student experience.
Desired Candidates
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a commitment to the purpose and values of City Students’ Union, and knowledge/expertise in at least one of the following areas:
Commercial Operations
To enhance our understanding of delivering commercials services such as bar, shops, and cafes to enable long term growth.
Communications and Marketing
To support our aspirations in increasing awareness of the Union offer and relevance amongst the student body.
Sports Management
To inform our longer-term approach and strategy for competitive and non-competitive sport.
Sponsorship and Fundraising
To support our ambitions to increase funding streams that are less reliant on our block grant.
As the Union strives to make the Board a diverse body that reflects the wider membership, the Union particularly welcomes applications from those who self-define as a person of colour and/or a woman.
