Who we are
Turn2us helps people in financial need gain access to welfare benefits, charitable grants and other financial help – online, by phone and face to face through our partner organisations. We believe any of our lives can be turned upside down because of an illness, job loss or relationship breakdown. But too often we see these life events trap people in poverty. We want to stop people being swept into poverty and give practical help to anyone already struggling to cope.
The role
We are seeking two new board members to engage in the governance and oversight of the charity and to contribute to the development of our board of trustees. We want imaginative and problem-solving people, people who are not afraid to speak up when something feels wrong and people who will ask when they need something. You do not need to have served on a board before as we will provide you with full support and training.

We believe any of our lives can be turned upside down because of an illness, job loss or relationship breakdown. But too often we see these life events trap people in poverty. We want to stop people being swept into poverty and give practical help to anyone already struggling to cope. We help people find financial support such as welfare benefits, charitable grants and other support so that they can get their lives back on track. We seek to challenge the structural inequalities which help to create poverty in the UK.
The diversity of our board is critical to the organisation’s success. We are particularly keen to hear from people with lived experience of poverty, disabled people, people from the LGBTQ+ community and those from minoritised ethnic communities.
Turn2us is an equal opportunities employer.
Turn2us wants to enable an environment where everyone is kept safe from harm and can thrive. We are committed to safeguarding everyone involved in our charity and the work we do. You can read a safeguarding policy on the Turn2us website.
