Who we are

White Lodge supports over 2,500 individuals across Surrey through a diverse range of disability services for children and adults.

Based in Chertsey, and in our purpose-built facilities, we offer a range of services for disabled people; specialist physiotherapy for children & adults – offering fitness & rehabilitation in our gym & therapy rooms, speech & language services, and a hydrotherapy pool. For children, we have overnight breaks, play & youth services and 0-5 services, and a nursery.

The role

White Lodge supports over 2,500 individuals and their families and carers across Surrey. We are unique in our ability to offer our services to support a vast range of disabilities, we have specialist neurological services for adults and children – including Surrey’s main Cerebal Palsy under 5s services that are hosted in partnership with the NHS, and we offer services to children and adults with autism and other learning disabilities. There really is not one box that fits all!

Recently awarded 7 years of funding to deliver Children’s Short Breaks services by Surrey County Council, this funding is 50% of our annual turnover and this gives us a good foundation to build on and enables us to look at innovative ways to create income.

We are looking for new Trustees and Treasurer to work with the CEO and Chair to develop the charity’s new objectives and strategy. For nearly two years the charity has been progressing with a program of modernization and development, energizing the charity and building its resilience. And with this progress in focus, the charity is seeking Trustees that have the following skills and experience;

Finance management, Children and/or Adult Safeguarding, HR and Law, Marketing and Communications, Health and Safety, and contracts/commissioning/funding.

We are seeking compassionate people that want to make a direct difference in the lives of the children and adults that use our services. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds and would particularly welcome applications from people who themselves have a disability.

The Trustee Board is also going through a phase of development and we are seeking people that help us to drive the charity’s development. The board meets quarterly, either online or face to face, has a variety of sub- committees and has two half-day away days.
