Who we are
We are a small charity bringing music to the heart of healthcare in Sussex and Surrey. Working in partnership with NHS healthcare settings and with people of all ages in hospital, we turn clinical places into cultural spaces, creating joy, levity, connection and expression through shared music-making.
We run weekly music-making sessions at patients’ bedsides and group settings including neonatal units, children’s hospitals, psychiatric units and older people’s wards.
The role
We’re looking for people with the following skills and experience:
Note: If your skills and experience are not listed below but you are interested in joining us, please do get in touch!
Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults – we are looking to recruit a new safeguarding lead for the organisation.
Research and evaluation – we want to keep up to date with relevant academic studies in our field. As a small organisation it can be hard to do this, so we would welcome applications from people with academic backgrounds who can help with this.
HR and employment – as our organisation slowly grows, we want to make sure that we are following best practice and being the best employer we can be.
Charity governance, finance and risk – we want to ensure that we are always following best practice, identifying financial risks and safeguarding our organisation.
Attributes that we are seeking include:
Excellent team work and communication
An appetite for learning and self/group reflection
Kindness, passion and commitment
We particularly encourage applications from people with ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds, disabilities and lived experience of the following;
Lived experience of caring for someone living with dementia
Lived experience of caring for a child with health or mental health challenges
You do not need to have previous experience of being a Trustee to apply. Support and training will be provided for you.
