The role

  • Location Description: Hybrid (Primarily online, with occasional in-person meetings in London)
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 2-3 hours per month
  • Remuneration: Voluntary (reasonable out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed)
  • Term: Minimum 1-year commitment, with the option to renew

We’re expanding our Board of Trustees and are looking for committed individuals to help shape our future. Whether you’re new to being a trustee or an experienced leader, we welcome your voice!

Role Description

As a trustee at Conscious Muslim, you’ll play a key role in guiding our charity’s strategy, supporting our mission, and ensuring we make a meaningful impact. You’ll be part of a diverse team that values fresh perspectives and collaborative thinking. The role involves:

– Attending bi-monthly board meetings (mostly online, with occasional in-person sessions).

– Contributing to discussions on strategy, growth, and how we can better serve our community.

– Participating in specific projects or committees based on your skills and interests.

– Sharing your insights to help us achieve our goals in supporting mental well-being.

No prior trustee experience required, just a passion for making a difference and a willingness to learn.

Person Specification

We’re looking for individuals with skills, knowledge, or expertise in any of the following areas:

– Human Resources (HR): Supporting our people strategy and staff development.

– Mental Health: Offering insights to improve our therapeutic services.

– Family Therapy: Guiding our programs focused on family dynamics and well-being.

– Finance & Fundraising: Assisting with financial planning, securing grants, and major gifts.

– Legal Compliance: Ensuring we meet regulatory requirements and safeguarding standards.

– Community Engagement & Outreach: Strengthening our connections within the Muslim community.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or someone with lived experience, we believe your skills can help us grow.
