Who we are
Zurich Community Trust (ZCT) is the charity arm of Zurich in the UK. We’re here to help make society more inclusive and resilient through our grants, fundraising, and volunteering.
We’ve been doing this since 1973, making us one of the oldest corporate trusts in the UK. Over the years, we’ve given nearly £100 million in grants and hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours from Zurich Insurance UK employees to good causes.

The role
We’ve been doing this since 1973, making us one of the
oldest corporate trusts in the UK. Over the years, we’ve given nearly £100
million in grants and hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours from Zurich
Insurance UK employees to good causes.
We work with national and local community partners, backed
by Zurich Insurance UK and its employees, to tackle social issues and bring
about positive change. Each year, we give over £2 million in grants to help
enrich communities across the UK.
We’re proud of what makes ZCT special. Our charity partners
love our long-term support with 56 local and 3 national charities. They also
appreciate our additional benefits like sustainability grants, networks, paid
apprenticeships, and training resources. Plus, Zurich UK staff are always eager
to volunteer their time and their skills to communities.
We’re currently planning our new strategy for 2025 and
beyond. We want to keep what’s great about ZCT while continuing to grow, adapt,
listen, and work together to make a bigger impact.
We’re looking for new ideas on our Board. We want people who
can share their experiences, challenge our thinking, and help us grow. Which is
why we are looking for a new Trustee to join us.
The board meets once a quarter, a mix of virtual and face to
face for 3 hours at a time and in November we have a joint board meeting in
Swindon with the ZCT team. In terms of your time, it’s approximately 25 hours a
year.
If you’re passionate about working with local charities,
understand the issues affecting society and the charity sector in the UK, and
want to make a difference, please apply now. We are especially interested in
applications from experienced Trustees who will bolster our combined board
skills in the following areas:
- Small
charity experience - Experience
of charity and foundation marketing and communication - Charity
performance Monitoring and Evaluation - Charity
law experience - Safeguarding
experience
