Who we are
The charity provides mental health support through counselling low-income families, children in need and children in care within the community. We also provide educational support to statutory-age children and young people (Post 16). Providing vocational support as well as job skills opportunities. We aim to do this through the support of the local communities, counsellors and tutors.
The role
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Governance: Lead the Board of Trustees, providing direction and oversight to ensure the charity delivers on its mission. Ensure governance is robust and that the charity operates in compliance with legal, ethical, and financial requirements.
Strategic Direction: Work alongside senior leaders to set and review the charity’s strategic objectives, helping to shape future plans that enhance the charity’s sustainability and impact.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, beneficiaries, and volunteers, ensuring ASK PIP is well-regarded in the sector.
Advocacy and Representation: Act as the figurehead of the charity, championing its work, values, and goals. Represent ASK PIP at public events and in high-level discussions, raising the charity’s profile within the community.
Support and Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the Chief Executive and future staff, helping them navigate challenges and providing counsel when necessary.
Board Development: Ensure the Board remains effective, engaged, and diverse by facilitating recruitment, training, and development of Trustees.
What We’re Looking For:
A Visionary Leader: Someone who is passionate about improving the lives of care-experienced children and young people and has the ability to lead a team towards achieving a compelling vision.
Experience in Governance: Previous experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the charity sector, with a strong understanding of governance principles and best practices.
Exceptional Communication Skills: You should be able to inspire, persuade, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, from staff and Trustees to donors and beneficiaries.
Commitment and Dedication: A strong commitment to the values of ASK PIP Charity and a desire to give your time, expertise, and energy to an organisation that is making a real difference.
Strategic Thinking: The ability to think both strategically and operationally, guiding the charity through challenges and opportunities with a clear and actionable approach.
