Who we are
A UK registered charity, The Pluto Educational Trust (PET) was set up initially in 2010 as a custodian of Pluto Books, ensuring its continuation as an independent radical publisher. Since then it has become a vibrant network of initiatives including Diamond Open Access publisher Pluto Journals and the Decolonial Centre. Our mission is to support publishing and educational projects that empower writers, campaigners and movements striving for positive change.
The role
As a PET trustee you’ll be joining a board currently with four members, each with decades of experience running progressive charities, organisations and think tanks. As well as bringing your own skills and experience it will be a great opportunity to develop further and contribute to the growth and sustainability of radical publishing and education.
Our trustees, as well as our small staff team, are all committed to our core values of internationalism, collaboration and intergenerationality.
We’re particularly keen to recruit people with skills, experience and current knowledge around at least one of the following areas:
- Legal practice/charity law
- Governance systems for small organisations
- publishing and information dissemination
- Digital communications and online technologies
- Fundraising/legacy and gift giving
For more information on the role and application process please download the role description.
We will also be hosting two online open presentations about the role on: February 5th (10-11am) and February 8th (3-4pm). See website or document for more details and to register
