Who we are

West Cornwall Women’s Aid has provided free help and support to women and children in West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly since 1987. Our specially trained team offers a range of services to women who are experiencing domestic abuse or sexual violence or have done at any time in their lives, including childhood abuse.


Our services include a Helpline, access to Refuge accommodation across the UK, Outreach, Counselling and Group Work.


The role

For over 35 years, WCWAid have been providing essential support to women and children who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse. As a trustee, you will play a key role in guiding our mission and ensuring we continue to deliver vital services to those who need them most.

We are particularly keen to hear from:

Women with lived experience of domestic or sexual abuse, including previous users of our services. Your insights and understanding are invaluable.
Women with backgrounds in governance or legal expertise to strengthen our board and help us navigate the complexities of running a charity.
What’s Involved:

As a trustee, you will:

Shape the strategic direction of WCWAid.
Oversee the charity’s operations and ensure we meet our goals effectively.
Advocate for women’s rights and work to end domestic and sexual abuse in our community.
