The role
Trusteeship at ELATT
Having celebrated our 40th Anniversary throughout 2024, we are now looking to push forward by bringing three new trustees onto the Board: dynamic individuals with relevant skills and experience in education; organisational leadership and development; financial strategy, and fundraising and prospect-generation.

Priority skills areas
The ELATT Board of Trustees is particularly interested in enhancing its leadership and effectiveness through bringing in dynamic individuals with experience in any of:
- Education. whether as a practitioner, inspector or governor
- Organisational leadership and development
- Financial management and strategy
- Fundraising in the corporate sector, including networking and prospect-generation.
Time commitment
We expect the following commitment from our Trustees:
- Attendance at quarterly Board meetings, usually the last Wednesday of the month in January, April, July and the first week of November (6.30 – 8.30 p.m.).
- Attendance at a quarterly Committee meeting, covering either Curriculum and Delivery; Safeguarding, or Finance and Business Development.
- Attendance at an annual Away Day.
- Participation in trustee induction and training sessions.
- Attendance at special events such as fundraisers and employer outreach.
- Observation of teaching and learning at least once per year
Please allow for an additional hour of preparation and review time before each Board and Committee meeting, and some follow up.
Meetings take place at our centre at 260-264 Kingsland Road,
London E8. On occasion Trustees may attend online.
