Who we are
Music of Life exists to build and strengthen the skills, well-being and confidence of children and young people with disabilities through music-making. Our vision is of a world where these children have the same access to music-making as any other child. We provide them with high-quality musical education and performance opportunities. When they are ready, we help them to integrate into community based activities such as joining a youth choir or playing in a band.
The role
To further
improve our governance and effectiveness, we are creating the brand-new role of
Board Secretary. This
voluntary role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a focused,
impactful organisation, making a real difference through music.
The Board Secretary supports effective
governance and ensures the smooth running of the charity. This prestigious,
purpose-driven position is ideal for a highly organised individual passionate
about music, education, and supporting children with disabilities.
Working closely with the Chair, Vice
Chair, and CEO, the Secretary is pivotal to ensuring clarity, continuity, and
compliance in the charity’s leadership. As a key member of both the Board team
and the Advisory Council, the Secretary will help these bodies function
efficiently and fulfil their legal and statutory responsibilities.
We are open to discussing whether the Board Secretary will also be
a trustee and look forward to hearing the views of prospective candidates.
