The Mill is a National Portfolio Organisation for Arts Council England.

The role

The Mill Arts Centre is a multi-art form venue situated in Banbury, North Oxfordshire. It is the focus of cultural life as the only public arts and performance venue in the Cherwell District. The Mill’s vision is to be there for everyone to experience the arts in whatever way they choose; discovering the moments that connect us and bring us together.

Joining Arts Council England’s National Portfolio in 2023 has afforded the capacity to deliver strong audience growth and build community engagement. However the current venue’s high flood risk and access issues are key challenges. The Trust aim to relocate the organisation to new premises during the current business plan cycle to enable The Mill to realise its full potential.

We are looking for Trustees with a passion for the contribution that Culture can make to the community and can contribute from experience gained in one or more of the following areas;

  • Those active in local businesses and communities with connections in Banbury and/or Bicester
  • Specialist skills, knowledge or experience in The Arts / Creative Industries / Dance, Community engagement, Corporate/Charity Law, Health & Safety, Environmental Sustainability, Marketing & Communications

Trustees should have the capacity to be able to commit half a day per month to the organisation.

The role is unremunerated, but out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
