Who we are
We help charity leaders in Oxfordshire reach their potential and achieve their goals.
We do this by matching leaders with experienced mentors in a confidential and supportive environment to work on opportunities and strategic challenges. This strengthens the leader, their charity, and their beneficiaries.
The role
Our Board currently has five trustees, including a Chair and Treasurer, and is supported by an Executive Director who manages day-to-day operations. We are now seeking two additional trustees to join our Board as part of a planned succession process.
Trustees share collective responsibility for ensuring that the Charity:
1. Has a clear strategy and monitors progress.
2. Operates within charity law and its constitutional remit.
3. Provides a high-quality mentoring service.
4. Uses its resources effectively and sustainably.
5. Maintains a strong reputation and public profile.
Trustees attend four Board meetings a year, held either in person (in Oxfordshire) or online. Between meetings, there may be opportunities to contribute to specific projects depending on your interests and expertise. The term of office is three years, renewable once. The role is voluntary and unremunerated, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed. Full introduction to our work, mentoring model, and governance processes will be provided.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. You don’t need to have been a trustee before, we provide induction and ongoing support. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who:
• Have experience of working or volunteering in the charity or community sector.
• Have skills in communications or fundraising.
• Believe in the power of mentoring and collaboration.
• Are committed to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion.
We are actively seeking to broaden the diversity of our Board to reflect the communities we serve.
