Who we are
A UK-registered charity with a mission as bold as it is simple: to use the power of netball to transform the lives of young people through play, leadership, and health education.
We introduce the game of netball to boys and girls in our communities. The relationships they build with the coaches, then allows the delicate health subjects, usually around sexual health, to be discussed. Our Kenyan and Ugandan programmes typically cover menstruation, teenage pregnancy and gender issues.
The role
We have a strong Board of Trustees, but none have held leadership roles in charities and we feel we miss this experience. You’d join 5 others Trustees who have transitioned the charity from a Trust to a CIO and have recruited the first ever employee. We’re doing well, but we lack that direction and learning from having led other charities. We meet 5 times a year (4 online, 1 in person typically in London) tho there will be other ad hoc tasks and support needed.
