Who we are
Moss Hall Playcentre is an independently run after school club in close co-operation with Moss Hall Infant and Junior Schools. We are an Ofsted registered, not-for-profit organisation managed by a Board of Trustees. Our vision is that all children should have the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their potential. Our mission is to provide play, learning, and support to working families in North London, to encourage children’s early years development
The role
Playcentre trustees meet six times per year for a two-hour, in-person meeting held at Moss Hall School N12 8PE. In between meetings, trustees are expected to read (and sometimes contribute to) meeting papers and complete any actions assigned to them (~2 hours per month).
The Chair, Secretary and Treasurer have additional duties, but all trustees share equal responsibility.
We require additional trustees with the following the qualities and skills including:
Commitment: A willingness to put in the time and effort to perform their role effectively, including to take on training to do so.
Understanding: A willingness to learn about the charity’s legal, financial, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Decision making: The ability to make sound decisions based on appropriate information.T
Teamwork: The ability to work well with others and contribute an independent perspective.
Judgment: Good, independent judgment and the ability to challenge current thinking in a constructive way.
Communication: Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ethics: Adherence to the seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership.
