Who we are
CPRE The Countryside Charity (Lancashire, Liverpool City Region & Greater Manchester group) believes in countryside and green spaces that are accessible to all, rich in nature and playing a crucial role in responding to the climate and biodiversity crises. We campaign for affordable homes, dark skies, renewable energy done well, active travel and preservation of the green belt, National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs).
The role
You do not need trustee experience but must understand good governance. Knowledge about the countryside is not essential but you must be enthusiastic about it and care about biodiversity, the climate crisis, food and farming, the lack of truly affordable homes, renewables done well and much more. You are hard working, collaborative, a team player, a good listener with strong oral and written communication skills, tactful and tolerant and willing to get stuck in. You will have the opportunity to do interesting, meaningful work, to meet and work with the other CPRE network Boards (one for each county in England) and to meet and work with our national colleagues in London (policy and campaign creation and lobbying).
